OF pilgrim rest church

Ashton E. Alexander embraced God’s grace of salvation and was baptized at an early age. Passionate about Christ and the church, he was a faithful member of his home church, Mt. Pleasant M.B. Church.

Rev. Alexander was overwhelmingly elected as Senior Pastor of Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church at the age of 22, making him the church’s 8th pastor. He accepted the call to pastor and looks forward to serving Pilgrim Rest — a church with a rich history and big outreach. Pastor Alexander will keep the mission statement of Jesus recorded in Luke 4:18 in mind as he leads Pilgrim Rest. Like Jesus’ ministry, he wants to create a place where the broken, bruised, and those in bondage can be blessed.

Pastor Alexander earned his M.Div at Mid America Baptist Theological Seminary in Cordova, TN. During his tenure at Pilgrim Rest, the church has experienced spiritual and numerical growth, and the church has placed greater focus and intention on disciple making and evangelism.

Pastor Alexander is happily married to the love of his life, the former Tiara Rias, and they are the parents of one beautiful son.  Together, they are committed to partnering together in serving the Lord and the Pilgrim Rest Church.
