{"id":378,"date":"2018-06-28T17:05:32","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T17:05:32","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kqcommunicationssites.com\/PR\/?p=378"},"modified":"2018-06-28T19:52:16","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T19:52:16","slug":"the-educational-outreach-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pilgrimrestmemphis.org\/index.php\/2018\/06\/28\/the-educational-outreach-ministry\/","title":{"rendered":"The Educational Outreach Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The vision of the Educational Outreach Ministry is a quality educational and social outreach program that will have \u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">sustainability and effectiveness for the congregation and the community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The goals for EOM are as follows:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To add a minimum of four members to the ministry<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To establish at least one new endowed scholarship<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To increase the financial giving to the EOM programs<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>The key leaders within the ministry are as follows:<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Alice Maris, Eva Harsley, Margaret Daniel, Raye Jean Taylor, Shun Alexander, Sharon Ewing,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">and Melanie Jones<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The EOM plans to sponsor the following events in 2017<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Present a special African American tribute on two Sundays of Black History Month<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">during worship service (2nd Sunday, February 12th and 4th Sunday, February 26th)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Hold four quarterly meetings (January 14, April 8, June 10, December 9)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Recognize mothers and fathers on their respective day<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of students K-College on Honors Day (June 11th)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Revise the scholarship booklet<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Develop a program to communicate with and monitor all K-College students throughout the 2016-17 school year<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Develop some programs and activities to engage students more productively<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Distribute school supplie (August 6)<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">There is a line item (Scholarship) on the church envelope that allows members to contribute to \u00a0this ministry.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">We have had no problem with finance so far, however, we need to increase the finance for our scholarships.<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Presently we have three endowed scholarships supported mainly.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The vision of the Educational Outreach Ministry is a quality educational and social outreach program that will have \u00a0sustainability and effectiveness for the congregation and the community.
