{"id":374,"date":"2018-06-28T17:02:42","date_gmt":"2018-06-28T17:02:42","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/kqcommunicationssites.com\/PR\/?p=374"},"modified":"2018-06-28T19:56:05","modified_gmt":"2018-06-28T19:56:05","slug":"the-kennedy-street-ministry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pilgrimrestmemphis.org\/index.php\/2018\/06\/28\/the-kennedy-street-ministry\/","title":{"rendered":"The Kennedy Street Ministry"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The vision of the Kennedy Street Ministry is the continuation of processes to record and communicate the history<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Of the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church for posterity.<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To develop a strategy to involve family members of KSM to become involved with the ministry<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">so that it may survive and remain a link to the past of PRBC<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To get more members motivated to attend meetings and financially support the ministry<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To find better ways to communicate with the members<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">To develop methods of collecting and cataloguing church history<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>Officers:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Tommy Smith, Sharon Ewing, Margaret Daniels, Sam Ella Ward, Joe Ann Pettis and\u00a0<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Albert Herman<\/span><\/p>\n<p><b>Coordinators:<\/b> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Dorothy Stanley, Hazel James, Vivian Holman, Lillie Mae Hood, Magdalene Pettis<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Willie Mae Gray and Tommy Smith<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Two regular meetings (Spring and Summer)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">A Christmas Reception date ?<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Ministry members pay a monthly due. All KSM activities will be funded from the dues<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The officers and coordinators will meet as soon as we prepare our calendar for 2017 in order to organize for our<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">our activities. The proposed events will be presented to the membership at our first meeting and communities<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">will then be formed to work on the projects. The planning goes on continually through the year.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">All activities of KSM are designed to strengthen our Christian values and our fellowship within the church and<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">to cooperate with the pastor in church activities. \u00a0Most of our members are involved with other ministries within<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">the church, and will serve whenever we can. \u00a0We will lead by example and encourage younger members to embrace<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><br \/>\n<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">service as a major goal.
